I have grave reservations about putting the kindergarten on the first floor, with no indoor/outdoor flow. This is Johnsonville not Doha! There is so much science around the value of dirt, fresh air and sunshine for preschoolers that it is disappointing their needs aren't prioritised. Instead the cafe has the indoor/outdoor flow! As I understand it WCC needs the kindy land to make this plan work. If the Kindergarten Association isn't already onboard this consultation process puts them in an untenable position.
Also, parking is an issue. Cars aren't about to disappear anytime soon. The plan isn't clear on how many parks will be available.
The cafe doesn't need to be in the sight lines of library users. Clarks at Central is a good example of mixed use.
